Speaker: Dr. Kum kum Sarkar

The department conducted an Extension lecture by Dr. Kumkum sarkar for all the students during the continuing Semester. The Extension lecture was related to Paper DSE-A1 of the Semester 5th Honours paper. The lecture program was an attempt to give the students an insight not only into the subject matter of the topic but also to provide an interactive platform for them to share their views on Gender issues.

Dr. Kumkum Sarkar is  Associate Professor in Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences at Netaji Subhas Open University, Kalyani Campus.

 

 

• to be aware of the reasons of gender issues
• to gain knowledge about various gender problems
• to know how to save and protect themselves from domestic violence 

 

 

More than 70 students participated in the Seminar on " Gender Violence". The students were able to have a clear understanding of the problems and issues related to gender violence and also know about the laws regarded women's safety, the students were also able to share their problems and issues with Dr. Kumkum Sarkar and they were provided with some solutions by her, which help them to understand and solve their own problems in daily life.
